How it works

Have you heard of Citizen Science?

Citizen science is scientific research conducted, in whole or in part, by amateur (or nonprofessional) scientists.

Help us fight climate change, we can all work together for a more sustainable future.

How can I contribute? Record your fuel consumption and your routes.

FUEL CONSUMPTION
HOW

  1. Register (just the first time)
  2. Login (website or App)
  3. Build your car (just the first time)
  4. Record your driven km and your refueling amount on the Add your fuel consumption page. (or energy recharging).
We suggest you do it every time you refill/recharge your vehicle.

WHY

You can find out your average fuel consumption and fuel expenses.
And through constant monitoring of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, European scientists are building more and more accurate models for simulating Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) vehicles. Models, data, lab tests, all contribute to write the legislation for reducing CO2 emissions more accurately and to fight climate change.

ROUTES
HOW

  1. Register (just the first time)
  2. Login (website or App)
  3. Build your car (just the first time)
  4. Open the App, press Record, drive to your destination and once you have reached it click Stop.
  5. Send the data.Your route will be recorded, unless you wish to delete it.
WHY

You can monitor your car trips and compare them with the estimated routes, find out your average fuel consumption and expenses (if you add the data on the Add your fuel consumption page).
The European Union is committed to fight climate change in many ways: the implementation of policies to facilitate the use of electric cars is one of them. The study of traffic patterns and the creation of models are fundamental steps for taking practical actions as the placement of energy recharging stations in the correct locations.

Data are the most important resource for a scientist.

These are projects you, as a citizen scientist, can help us with.
